What is Host Virtual Machine (HVM)?

In a virtual machine environment, the host virtual machine (HVM) provides resource allocation to guest virtual machines.  HVM capture all I/O requests from the Guest VM and reroute them to the physical system’s resources.

Brief Description of Host Virtual Machine

A host virtual machine is a server component that provides resource allocation facility to the guest virtual machine. It gathers all input-output requests by the guest virtual machine and directs them to the physical system resource.
Host virtual machine may exist as part of a single physical hardware or smaller units of resources on multiple physical machines. It provides the resources concerned with the computing phase that may include processing power, memory, disk and network input or output etc.
